Mooncakes Gift Set Design

Every Mooncake festival of the year, i think mooncakes are sold as gift, more than own-consume.
During small time, i like to collect those boxes. For me, i think the boxes are precious, as we can only have the design on that year. Merchants update the design every year. If you like the box, you have to buy the mooncake, if not you will just miss it. Sometimes i think, they seem like selling the boxes more than selling mooncake!

During primary school, the mooncakes came with steel container. Nowadays, more merchants design their boxes in those wooden paper type. This is great transformation as wooden or cardboard type is more environmental friendly, does not corrode easily, and can be design in various shapes and ways.

For Tai Thong, there are 4 season mooncake this year. I still see their traditional steel container. But  Tai Thong flavours are very creative: Wholesome Wheatgrass with Single Yolk, Golden Honey Grapefruit and Pineapple, Snow Skin Chocolate Yogurt with Cranberry Bits, etc..

Casahana (Xi Yue Tang in mandarin), is now emerging too. Their gift sets design improves each year.

I first know Yong Sheng from a Muar friend of mine. I like the traditional Lou Po Peng. But nowadays, their mooncake flavours are quite modern too. Their gift set look elegant but still maintain the traditional feel.

This year, i collected single box from Six Happiness, and also Baker's Cottage (Mai Ke Si in mandarin).

And there are also other types of nice gift set (some come with tea set) with nice packaging.
