Last night, it was still 2011. And now, it's 2012! Yeah, this will be a brand new year for all of us..


Last night we decided to go Tropicana City Mall, just for the fireworks. And our first dream in the new year comes true! Last night there was an amazing Fireworks Show! This is the first time i see the fireworks twist in the sky and wish us, yes, Happy 2012!

Besides fireworks, there were other programs such as Street Magician, Clown, Face Painting, Raging Mechanical Bull Rider, Belly Dance and performance by Hannah Tan!

The celebration was very nice, peace, and relax as it was more to family gathering. I guess most of them were residences from Tropicana area.

Christmas is around the corner, it's on this weekend! It's the time to receive Christmas present from Santa Claus!..

Most shopping centres are decorated with christmas trees. And sometimes Santa Claus will meet the public. Nowadays Santa Claus has changed his role from giving present to taking photo with us, i guess..=p

I like the "Garden-christmas" at Mid Valley Megamall the most! Clams and fairy at One Utama Shopping Centre are nice too. At KLCC, there are performances at specified time. At Pavilion, there is a Carousel, merry-go-round to celebrate wonderful Christmas.

KFC: Free Double Zinger Burger Combo!

In the morning, i saw post on Freebiesland.com.my that KFC is giving out Double Zinger Combo, yes, i am curious on how to redeem the giant Double Zinger Burger!

So i passed by a KFC outlet, thinking, "hmm..i am going to see how to redeem the Double Zinger Burger.."(in the coupon, it's stated that "valid with any purchase")..


To my surprise, i saw lots of disappointed face, and lots of question from the customer. It was around 7pm on 14th December 2011, the first day the Free Double Zinger Burger coupon was released, and at that moment while customers were happily queuing up for Double Zinger Burger, one of the workers posted a notice saying "HABIS"!

"We would like to inform that the allocated stocks for this online promotion is.."

One of the customers, holding Free Double Zinger Burger coupon, asked: "How can the promotion finish on the first day?"


One of the workers answered: "We have out of  NANAS (pineapple)"!


Ok, now i really know that pineapple is an important ingredient in Double Zinger Burger!


Out of my curiosity, i went to another branch - the KLCC KFC.


Hmm, i saw people queuing up with some paper holding on their hand, so i guessed they should have the promotion on!


And it was my turn, i was told that any purchase can be done, as long as you make any purchase, in a single receipt, and only 1 purchase allowed per person at one time. Of course, i need to give them the printed Free Double Zinger Burger coupon !


So, i bought a bun, and i got my Double Zinger Burger!
The Double Zinger Burger combo comes with a Double Zinger Burger, a regular softdrink, and a small fries.

There are supposed to be layers of : sesame-seed bun, thick juicy pineapple, fresh lettuce, 2 pieces of chicken and a slice of cheese..

I thought it was supposed to be smaller in size than normal, i didn't expect much. But when i opened the burger, oh no!!!!!! it was so huge! neither the double chicken (should be thighs or breast) shrink, nor the sesame-seed bun!

I remember last year i went to Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia Restaurant Food Festival and Cooking Competition 2011 at PWTC. I saw lots new types of food there, and lots of food sampling at most of the booth. So this year i don't want to miss it too!

This year, it is now running as a 3 days event, at PWTC, from 18th November to 20 November.

I went there today's afternoon, there were: cooking demonstration at different scheduled time; various types of packaging food from Malaysia, Taiwan and other countries; booth of Malaysian Street Booth, Exhibition of dishes from cooking competition, and lots of Hotel and Restaurant packages for dinner event. The booths closed around 7pm.

It's really a happening weekend at PWTC Exhibition Centre, KL this week, as there are total more than 3 events running concurrently. Besides Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia Restaurant Food Festival and Cooking Competition 2011, there are also 2 other events: BN Job Fair and Malaysia International Seafood Exposition 2011.

Recently, since the last Friday, 11-11-11, the hottest topic among newspaper is this- The Star Bid and Win Promotion! Everyone seems to start collecting points by buying more The Star Newspaper (beside the original purpose which is to drive reading culture in Malaysia).

To participate, it's very simple, just collect as much points as you can to bid for the prizes you want!
1. Collect The Star points and cut out the coupon on each day The Star Front Page.
2. Decide on the prizes you want and bid for the amount (according to the points you have collected).

I read a news article online that one girl in Penang actually bought 200 pieces of same The Star Newspaper on the first day and collected 80,000 points! I think i will not do this..

2nd Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Fair, Mid Valley

Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Day for everyone -free admission, was held again on 7th to 9th October in Mid Valley Megamall. This is a great chance for you to know more chocolate maker/ factories especially in Malaysia.

The First Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Day was held on 15th to 17th October 2010 in Mid Valley Megamall too. To read more about the First Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Day, click here.

This year, the exhibition area was smaller, but the products displayed, for me, were better.

It was held concurrently with KLPF 2011, Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival 2011. Their website: www.klpf.com.my

Compare to Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Fair, Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival had more visitors and media press. I guess that's because of more happening and more "hot girls"!

Anyone who is interested shouldn't miss the next photography festival, don't misunderstand, i mean interested in getting professional camera sets at promotional package, k..!!

However, I am a chocolate lover, so i headed to the Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Day first.

There was a booth for Raw Cocoa fruit free tasting. Believed it or not, it's sour before processing into chocolate!

The pakcik was cutting a fresh cocoa fruit for us.

Another stall gave out free hot Chocolate drink! Delfi Chocolate. It tasted very yummy. But the product is not in the market yet! The promoter mentioned that the Delfi Cocoa powder will only be available in Malaysia market the next year, most probably in January 2012.

So they treated me a freshly made chocolate cake, fresh from the oven. It looked like Coeur Fondant, a type of French dessert. It didn't look that tempting, but i believe, the cocoa powder perfect everything.

Coeur Fondant means melted heart in french. It is normally called as Molten Chocolate Cake.

They served the chocolate cake with Blueberry sauce. But i prefer the taste without blueberry. The hot chocolate just melted in my mouth, yummy yummy!

This small slice of chocolate was nice too. It's soft, a little cold as it's just out of fridge, coated with cocoa powder.

The new item this year, the Hottest Angry Bird! Erm, angry bird is printed on chocolate so that you can eat them when you are angry? This is an innovative business owner!

There were lots of chocolate bars, handmade chocolate on sale. 

Besides, there were other chocolate side products.

There was a booth at the far end from Lembaga Koko, selling food such as: Cakes, Waffles, chocolate drinks, etc named Koko Bistro.
This booth was not crowded, maybe they didn't give free sampling. But the food served was excellent.
Oh for sure i can't resist the temptation. I bought a piece of Tiramishu. It's nicely presented, except the plate.
It's only cost at RM7 per piece! This is the best Tiramishu for the year! I never regret buying this.
And, it's accompanied by a piece of dark chocolate!

We went back late, but full with romantic chocolate. I think chocolate will just make most of you happy!
