Durian Durian is one of the new kiosks in KLCC. Most of the food here is made from durian- The King of tropical fruit!
Previously i posted about
new KLCC kiosks in my previous posts, which are Gong-cha pearl milk tea, Chocolat World, and this Durian Durian.
As a Malaysian, most of us know what is Durian. Either you love it extremely, or you hate it very much. But for foreigners, they might not aware of this special fruit- Durian! Some describe the smell as unique, but some describe it as fart-smell. Some run hundred-feet away when smell Durian, some go everywhere to find for delicious species Durian.
Durian, is described as having unique odour, and formidable thorn- covered husk. The edible flesh emits a distinctive odour, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. The smell has been described variously as almonds, rotten onions, turpentine and gym socks. However, the 19th-century British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace famously described its flesh as a "rich custard highly flavoured with almonds."
Of course here, in the newly open kiosk, you cannot find fresh Durian. But there are readily made pastries, specially made from Durian. There are cakes, puff, biscuits, tarts, etc, available at this new "Durian Durian" kiosk.

I bought this after 9pm in the evening, and i enjoy an extra promotion discount at 20% off.
I guess this shop will attract lots of the foreigners or tourists as Durian (the King of tropical fruits) is a seasonal fruits. It's not always a Durian season so sometimes it's hard to find Durian during the non-peak season. And Durian is absolutely a no-go for airplanes, i guess not the readily made pastry!
