Kushi Q Japanese Cafe, Tropicana City Mall

I have passed by Kushi Q Japanese Cafe lots of time whenever i go Tropicana City Mall, but that was really the first time we decided to go in and gave it a try. It is located at the side-way from Carrefour to escalator, near to the Pet Shop at lower ground.

Looking at the menu only i know that, Satay or Kushi is their signature dish.

Kushi, in Japanese means skewers used in Japanese Cuisine to hold food for grilling and frying.  Kushi is written as δΈ².

We decided to order 1 set of Kushi meal: Chicken and Seafood Set
And another set of Fish Katsudon.

The Kushi meal really took longer time than expected to be ready. But the result was good. The 3 sticks of Kushi really looked tempting, and they were equally grilled. The 3 sticks of Kushi are: Chicken Wing, Chicken cube with Capsicum, and Octopus.

One of the lunch/ dinner set is inclusive of:
Main Course + Japanese White Rice + Steamed Egg Chawan Mushi + Pickles +  Miso Soup+ Fruits

We ordered each set of:
1. Seafood Tepanyaki Zen (worth RM 23.90)
2. Salmon Teriyaki Zen (worth RM 22.90)
3. Kaki Fried Zen (worth RM 22.90)
4. Cobia Cheese Fuku Yaki Zen (worth RM 20.90)

And i only bought from Everyday.com.my at RM 9.90 per set! It's more than 50% discount!

Seafood Tepanyaki was inclusive of Squid, Fish Fillet, Prawn and Cabbage. The sauce was very fragrance, especially the strong garlic smell, with types of special sauce used.

Salmon Teriyaki tasted more to sweet and sour fish. The Salmon fillet portion was smaller (reasonable as salmon is more expensive).

Fried Kaki was breaded oyster. It took longer time to prepare fried oyster. But the result is the best, this is the nicest fried oyster i would say. As the oyster was fresh and juicy, and the skin was crispy, it's best to be eaten while hot!

Baked cobia fish in cheese was really the nicest baking style i ever have. The sticky cheese was combined with smooth fish fillet, with strong butter smell. I love this cooking the most!

As usual, i like the Chawan Mushi very much!

Mikan Japanese Cusinese, Maju Junction Mall KL

A few weeks ago in December 2011, just realised that i had bought this deal from Mydeal earlier, and i quickly printed out the voucher, made booking and plan for the nice dinner.

Mydeal: Mikan Japanese Restaurant Set

Mikan Japanese Restaurant's located at far end of Maju Junction Mall. It's not congested with people, and the environment was just relaxing. But one of the waitresses told us, there will be more customers during lunch time as there're set lunch served instead of ala-carte.

Dang dang dang, here's the set we were here for redemption: Chicken Teriyaki, California Maki, Chawan Mushi and free flow of green tea.

For me, almost all Chicken Teriyaki taste the same! But this Chicken Teriyaki can really make me wow..I believe it's the sauce and the flour coated on the chicken that make it tasted different from others.

Mikan Japanese Restaurant: Free Flow Green Tea
The Chawan Mushi was described nice. But for me, I don't really like it as it's more Q and tasted like Jelly.

Hmm, the set wasn't that filling for one person. So we decided to make extra order of one Salmon Belly and one garlic rice.

The Salmon skin was crispy, there was a layer of juicy fat between crispy skin and smooth salmon flesh. One plate of salmon didn't seem to be enough for us! This really can be considered as one of the best salmon dish i ever have! I love it very much.

The garlic rice was sticky enough, and finely cooked with chopped garlic and garnished with sliced garlic.

Although the price is a bit high, i will surely go back again as the food served is really nice.

One of the amazing art is statue art, with on-the-spot demonstration. The master was using something like clay for the face and then did some make-up for the statue completion. Nice and it looks so real!
